I backported the change and pushed a new 1.10.1-SNAPSHOT. I hope this resolves this issue now!
After clearing the old/cached snapshot out of the way, it does look like the Oct-16 1.10.1-SNAPSHOT is working for SSL/TLS. Yay!
What does the release schedule look like? Is this worthy of a full release, or do you know when 1.10.1 would be available?

I’m currently aiming for a 1.10.1 release mid/start of november. I will try to get the whole milestone done 1.10.1 Milestone · GitHub, but if I have not enough time for all, the OpenSSL fix should be relevant enough for a full release.
