New LibGDX project (1.9.8) MOE won't launch

I created a new project using LibGDX version 1.9.8 and then imported it into Android Studio. The Multi-OS Engine plugin version 1.4.3 is installed. However, the project won’t run when I pick its configuration. There are no errors that show up in the Multi-os Engine tab. The Android version runs fine in the Android Emulator.

Is there more setup needed to get a project to run in MOE?

I also tried opening a project I had worked on previously a little while ago. Same thing.

I pick the MOE run configuration and click to run. The app does nothing, the run toolbar item becomes disabled, and there are no messages in the “Multi-OS Engine” tab at the bottom of Android Studio.
